TRIPS OF DREAMS 2007/08

BANGKOK & SURROUNDINGS

5 DAYS / 4 NIGHTS : ( BAS-54 )

 

Day 1 :  Arrival Bangkok

Arrive Bangkok airport, you are met and transferred to your hotel.  Rest of the day at leisure.  O/N in Bangkok.

Day 2 :  Bangkok (B+L)

Bangkok City Round-up begins with a visit to Wat Traimitr (Golden Buddha Temple), a drive through busy china town.  Continue to visit the Grand Palace and the magnificent Wat Phra Kaew (Emerald Buddha Temple), then to Wat Po (Reclining Buddha Temple.  After  a buffet lunch at a Thai restaurant, it's an exciting boat trip along the Chao Phya River and the inner canals of Bangkok. A stop is made  to visit the majestic Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn)  We also visit Wat Benjamabophit (Marble Temple)  before ending the excursion back at your hotel.  O/N in Bangkok.

 

Day 3 :  Bangkok - Damnearn Saduak - River Kwai (B+L)

Early depart Bangkok to visit the rural floating market at Damnearn Saduak (some 90 kms from Bangkok).  Continue to Kanchanaburi.  Lunch at local restaurant. Afterwards, we  visit the Allied Cemetery, the World War II Museum and the famous River Kwai Bridge.  We stop to visit the famous Tiger Temple en route to the River Kwai Village. O/N in Kanchanaburi.

 

Day 4 :  River Kwai - Rose Garden - Bangkok (B+L)

Morning visit to the “Hell Fire Pass”, then a ride on the back of elephants along the jungle trail before we depart Kanchanaburi for the Rose Garden.  After buffet lunch, it’s admission to the Thai village show of Buddhis ordination and Thai Wedding ceremonies, sword fighting, Thai boxing, elephants at work, Thai classical and folkloristic dances, etc.. Back in Bangkok in late afternoon,  O/N in Bangkok.

 

Day 5 :  Bangkok (B)

Free until transfer time to Bangkok airport for your departure.

BANGKOK & BEYOND

Day 2 :  Bangkok (B+L)

Day 3 :  Bangkok - Damnearn Saduak - River Cruise  (B+L+D)

Early depart Bangkok to visit the rural floating market at Damnearn Saduak (some 90 kms from Bangkok).  Return Bangkok  for lunch, then board the converted Rice Barge “Mekhala” and cruise up the Chao Phya River.  After sunset, we docks at Wat Kai Tia where a candlelit dinner is served.  O/N on board.

 

Day 4 :  Cruise to Ayuthaya,  Return Bangkok (B+L)

Continue the cruise to Bang-Pa-In where we disembark and visit the summer retreat of old kings. We can admire the serene garden compound housing collections of buildings in Thai, Chinese, Italian and Victorian architectures. The drive continues to Ayuthaya, the old capital of Siam where we visit ancient ruins of temples, palaces and monuments in the Historical Park. Return to Bangkok after an exciting day outing,  O/N in Bangkok.

 

Day 5 :  Bangkok - Departure (B)

Free until transfer time to Bangkok airport for your departure.
